Perinatal Chiropractic Care in Squamish
Your body is doing something extraordinary. It deserves extraordinary support.
Pregnancy and the postpartum period are two of the most neurologically demanding seasons a woman will ever move through. Your nervous system is working harder than it ever has, coordinating hormonal shifts, physical changes, and the enormous task of growing, birthing, and recovering from bringing a new life into the world.
This page is for you whether you're planning to conceive, currently pregnant, or postpartum and trying to find your footing again. All of these seasons matter deeply here.
What To Expect From a Perinatal Chiropractic Appointment
Your first visit starts with a thorough conversation about your pregnancy, birth experience, and where you are right now. I want to understand the full picture before we begin, including what your birth looked like, how your body is feeling, and what you're hoping to get out of care.
From there we'll do a full assessment including an INSiGHT nervous system scan, which gives us an objective baseline of how your nervous system is functioning and adapting. All adjustments during pregnancy and postpartum are modified to be completely safe and comfortable for where you are in your journey. Positioning is adapted throughout pregnancy, and postpartum care is paced around your recovery.
Preconception Chiropractic Care
The healthiest pregnancy starts before you're pregnant.
Most people don't think about chiropractic care until they're already pregnant. But if you're planning to conceive, this is one of the best times to invest in your nervous system health.
Your nervous system regulates everything, including your hormones, your stress response, and your body's ability to adapt to the enormous changes that pregnancy brings. When you go into conception with a nervous system that is already balanced and resilient, you're giving your body the best possible foundation for everything that follows.
Stress is one of the biggest factors working against that foundation. Chronic stress keeps your nervous system in a state of high activation, which affects hormonal balance, sleep, immune function, and your body's capacity to support a healthy pregnancy. Neurologically-focused chiropractic care in the preconception period works to reduce that stress load and bring your nervous system into a state of better regulation before conception occurs.
Prenatal Chiropractic Care
Your nervous system is the foundation of a healthy pregnancy.
Most people think of prenatal chiropractic as help for back pain during pregnancy. And yes, it can absolutely support that. But what we're really focused on goes much deeper than discomfort relief.
During pregnancy your body is undergoing constant change. Your pelvis shifts, your ligaments soften, your centre of gravity moves, and your nervous system is coordinating every bit of it. When there is tension or stress held in the nervous system, it affects not just how you feel physically, but how your body adapts to each stage of pregnancy, how your baby is positioned, and how your body prepares for birth.
Neurologically-focused chiropractic care during pregnancy supports your nervous system to stay as balanced and adaptable as possible through all of it. A well-supported nervous system means a more comfortable pregnancy, a pelvis that has optimal mobility and alignment, and a body that is better prepared for the birth ahead.
Postpartum Chiropractic Care
Birth is one of the most physically demanding events of a woman's life.
The postpartum period is often where support drops off, right when your body needs it most. You've just grown and birthed a human being. Your pelvis, spine, and nervous system have been through an enormous amount, and now you're feeding, carrying, barely sleeping, and trying to figure out a completely new version of your life.
What most people don't talk about is how much the nervous system is affected by birth. The physical demands are obvious. But birth also places your nervous system into a state of high activation, and without the right support, many moms find themselves stuck there. Difficulty sleeping even when the baby sleeps. Feeling wired and depleted at the same time. Trouble recovering physically. A sense of disconnection from their own body.
Postpartum chiropractic care is about helping your nervous system complete the birth process, shift out of survival mode, and rebuild the foundation for a strong and connected recovery.
The Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that I am certified in through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). It is designed specifically for use during pregnancy.
Webster Technique focuses on the sacrum, pelvis, and the surrounding soft tissue structures to reduce tension and restore balance in the pelvic bowl. When the pelvis is balanced and moving well, it creates the optimal environment for your baby to move freely and find their best position for birth.
It is safe, gentle, and one of the most requested and well-researched chiropractic techniques in pregnancy care. I use it as a foundational part of how I support pregnant moms throughout their pregnancy.

Yes. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is safe, gentle, and well-supported by research. The techniques I use are specifically adapted for pregnancy, and I am Webster Technique certified through the ICPA. Adjustments are modified throughout each trimester to ensure you are always comfortable and well-supported. Many moms find care to be one of the most relief-giving things they do for themselves during pregnancy.

Any time during pregnancy is a good time to start. Ideally, beginning care in the first or second trimester means we have more time to support your nervous system and pelvic balance throughout the full journey. That said, I regularly see moms who come in for the first time in their third trimester and still see meaningful benefits. It is never too late to start.

As soon as you feel ready and are able to get yourself to the clinic comfortably. The sooner we can begin supporting your nervous system after birth, the better the foundation for your recovery.

Not at all. Pain is one reason moms come in, but it's far from the only one. Many of the moms I work with are looking for proactive support through pregnancy, help with nervous system regulation, or a more connected and informed postpartum recovery. You don't need to be struggling to deserve care.
