The INSiGHT Nervous System Scans
If you want to understand your health, start with your nervous system
Most health assessments measure symptoms. Blood work, pain levels, how you're sleeping, how your baby is feeding. These things matter, but they're downstream. They tell you what is showing up, not why.
Your nervous system controls every single function in your body. Digestion, immune response, sleep, hormonal balance, emotional regulation, how your body adapts to stress. It is the master regulator of everything. So when we want to understand what's actually going on in your body or your child's body, measuring the nervous system directly is the most important place to start.
That's exactly what the INSiGHT nervous system scans do.
What Are the INSiGHT Scans?
The INSiGHT scanning technology is a non-invasive, completely safe system that gives us an objective, data-driven picture of how your nervous system is functioning. Not how you think you feel. Not what's visible on the surface. What is actually happening in your nervous system right now.
This is the technology that sets neurologically-focused chiropractic apart from every other approach. Instead of guessing or going off symptoms alone, we have real measurements to guide every decision we make in your care.
The full scan takes just a few minutes, is painless, and can be used on everyone from a newborn to an adult. Three individual scans work together to give us a complete nervous system picture.
The Three Scans
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
This is the big picture scan. HRV measures how well your autonomic nervous system is adapting to stress and tells us the overall charge level of your nervous system battery. A healthy nervous system is an adaptable one. It should be able to ramp up when you need it and settle down when you don't. When that flexibility is compromised, it shows up here.
Think of it as measuring your body's reserves. How much capacity does your nervous system actually have to handle everything being asked of it right now?
NeuroThermal Scan
This scan measures temperature patterns along the spine to assess how well your autonomic nervous system is functioning. Your autonomic nervous system is the part that runs on autopilot, regulating digestion, immune function, hormones, sleep, and your body's ability to adapt to its environment.
Asymmetries in temperature along the spine indicate areas where the nervous system is under stress and not communicating as clearly as it should be. This scan is particularly valuable for understanding what's going on with babies and children who are struggling with feeding, sleep, digestion, emotional regulation or immune challenges.
NeuroSpinal EMG
This scan measures the electrical activity of the muscles along the spine, revealing tension patterns that indicate where the nervous system is holding onto stress. Tight, overactivated muscles along the spine are a sign of a nervous system stuck in a state of tension or high alert.
It also gives us a window into the overall balance and coordination of how your body is moving and functioning. When the muscular system along the spine is unbalanced or dysregulated, it reflects what's happening in the brain itself. A calm, well-organised nervous system shows up as balance and symmetry in this scan. A stressed, overloaded one tends to look a lot noisier. Think of it as a read on how loud or chaotic things are up in the control centre, and how well the brain and body are actually talking to each other.
This scan is especially useful for tracking change over time as care progresses, because as the nervous system settles and reorganises, the shift shows up clearly in the data.
What Happens After Your Scan
Your first scan is always done before your first adjustment. We never start care without understanding your nervous system baseline first.
At your following visit we sit down together and go through your results in full. I'll walk you through what each scan is showing, what it means for your health or your child's health, and where the nervous system needs the most support. From there I build a fully customized care plan based on your specific nervous system findings, not a generic protocol, but a plan designed around exactly what your body needs.
Tracking Your Progress
One of the most powerful things about the INSiGHT technology is that we can use it throughout your care to track what's changing beneath the surface, often before you even feel the difference yourself.
We re-scan regularly at key points in your care plan. Watching those numbers shift is one of the most exciting parts of the process, because it confirms that your nervous system is doing exactly what it's supposed to. Real, measurable change that goes far beyond symptom relief.

Your nervous system deserves to be understood, not just managed.
Whether you're coming in for yourself, for your baby, or for your whole family, the INSiGHT scans are where we start. This isn't about managing symptoms or getting by. It's about going deeper, so the changes we make are real, lasting, and transformative. Your body has incredible potential. These scans help us unlock it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your questions about the Neurologically Focused Chiropractic Care, answered.
-
Yes, completely. The INSiGHT scans are non-invasive and use no radiation. They are safe for newborns, infants, children, pregnant moms, and postpartum moms. We use them on every patient regardless of age or stage.
Neurologically-focused chiropractic starts from a completely different place. Instead of chasing symptoms, we look at your nervous system as the control centre for everything happening in your body. Using INSiGHT scanning technology, we can actually measure how your nervous system is functioning and identify where stress is interfering with your body's ability to regulate and heal. The adjustments we make are specific to what your nervous system needs, not a general protocol applied the same way to every person who walks through the door.
The short version: traditional chiropractic works on your spine. What we do here works on your nervous system, through your spine.
-
Not at all. The scans simply measure what the body is already doing. Nothing is introduced into the body and there is no discomfort involved. Most babies and kids tolerate it easily, often without even noticing.
-
Absolutely. I will walk you through your scan results on day two and make sure you actually understand what you're looking at is one of my favourite parts of the process. You will leave your report of findings (second appointment) with a full picture of what's happening in your nervous system and a clear plan for what we do next.
-
The scans are valuable precisely because they show us what's happening in the nervous system before symptoms show up. Pain and obvious symptoms are often the last signals the body sends, not the first. The scans give us a window into nervous system function that no symptom checklist can provide.
