Want to know a little more about myself?
I was born and raised in Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Exercise Science. I also ran cross. country and track all four years at UMD. After university I decided to continue my education at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, earning my Doctorate of Chiropractic.
While attending Chiropractic school I fell in love with…
the Pacific Northwest, the mountain, all of the adventures it has to offer and a Canadian boy (which ended up bringing me to Vancouver). When I moved to the PNW I decided to swap my road running shoes for trail runners and love to spend all day adventuring in the mountains. While in chiropractic school my partner (also a Chiropractor in Squamish) and I took a quarter off of school to hike the northern half of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). We spent a total of 65 days backpacking on the PCT and hiked over 1000 miles.
After Chiropractic school…
we moved to Bend Oregon and practiced for three years before deciding to relocating to Squamish BC. It was in Bend that I decided to specialize in working with prenatal/postnatal moms and babies. I am also a BirthFit Professional, certified in the Webster Technique, practices diversified adjusting and craniosacral therapy (CST).
Since starting to run…
I have faced many running related injuries, which is ultimately what led me to becoming a chiropractor. Through my personal experiences and education I am determined to help other runners to be able to run pain free and for as many years as they would like to run. I created The Postnatal Running Program to help postnatal moms get back into running as quickly and safely as their bodies will allow after giving birth.
Besides running and backpacking…
you will find me outdoors with my furry side kick ZigZag, skiing, climbing or mountain biking. And because I think life is all about balance, when I am not outside I am most likely knitting, cooking or reading.
